CGI Custom & Geometric Windows in West Palm Beach: What to Know First

CGI custom and geometric windows in West Palm Beach come down to this: we measure, fabricate through CGI’s custom order channels, and install shaped openings the way the manufacturer’s engineering calls for, not the way a warehouse stock window gets forced in. Most custom CGI jobs in our area run four to eight weeks from order to install, and pricing starts around $2,800 for a single arched or radius unit and climbs from there based on glass package and opening size. If you own a CGI window that has failed, or you’re planning a shaped opening that needs impact-rated glass, call (561) 264-1279 and we’ll tell you straight what it will take.

This page is for homeowners in West Palm Beach and the surrounding communities who already own CGI windows, or who are specifying CGI for a custom opening. Dale Kessler and the TruePane crew have been working with CGI product lines across Palm Beach County long enough to know where they hold up and where they need attention. We’re an independent CGI service provider, not a CGI factory branch, so when we quote a fix or a replacement, we quote it in your interest, not the manufacturer’s.

How CGI Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

  • CGI Estate Collection radius units: seal failure at the curved glazing bead. We see this on Estate Collection custom radius windows that are eight to twelve years old. The curved glazing bead expands and contracts at a different rate than the straight runs, and the factory seal eventually lets go along the arc. The tell is a gray haze low on the curve that no amount of cleaning moves. We pull the unit, strip the old bead, and reset the glass on fresh structural sealant, then re-glaze with the correct CGI profile. On badly oxidized frames we’ll re-powdercoat before resetting.
  • CGI Tribute Series geometric windows: frame racking on gable-end openings. Triangular and trapezoid Tribute units in gable ends take wind load differently than rectangular windows. The frames are engineered for it, but the rough framing behind them often is not. We find openings where the header wasn’t tied back to the trusses properly, and the entire frame twists a quarter inch out of plane. The window gets blamed, but the framing did it. We re-square the opening, shim the frame true, and re-anchor through the flange with the spacing CGI’s installation spec actually calls for.
  • CGI Sentinel sliding glass door transoms: water intrusion at the mullion junction. When a custom transom meets a Sentinel slider, the factory mullion does most of the work. West Palm Beach’s afternoon downpours find any gap between the transom sill and the door header. We see this on installations from the mid-2010s where the flashing tape under the mullion was run short. Our fix is a full mullion re-flash with the transom pulled and reset, new sill pan, and sealed jamb ends. It’s not a caulk-and-hope job.
  • CGI custom mulled assemblies: sagging at the mullion points. Big custom combinations with three or more lites joined by factory or field mullions start to sag after a decade if the mullion pack wasn’t reinforced at install. We see it on casement-and-picture combos along Flagler Drive, where the ocean air has done a number on the original mullion hardware. We re-pack the mullions, torque them to spec, and replace any corroded connectors with stainless. That quiet little crack at the mullion joint is the warning sign.
  • CGI arched windows with laminated glass: interlayer clouding at the apex. Arched CGI units with laminated impact glass sometimes develop a milky band near the top of the arc. That’s the PVB interlayer delaminating from the glass at the point of maximum curvature stress. It’s not a seal failure in the traditional sense, and it’s not a warranty item on most original coverage. We document it, replace the unit through CGI’s custom order system when the homeowner wants it gone, and we photograph every step for an insurance or warranty file.

Our CGI Custom & Geometric Windows Process

  1. 1
We come out and measure the opening ourselves. Not the old window, not a photo. The rough opening, checked for square, plumb, and level. Dale’s rule holds: if it is not square, plumb, and sealed, it is not done. That starts at the tape measure.
  2. 2
We quote you the options on paper. OEM CGI glass and frame parts alongside quality aftermarket options where they make sense, with the differences written out, not glossed over. You see exactly what each path costs before you commit.
  3. 3
We order through CGI’s custom channel. For new shaped units, every radius, chord, and angle goes into CGI’s order form verified against our field measurements, not the builder’s original plan. Two sets of eyes on the numbers before the order leaves the shop.
  4. 4
We prep the opening. That usually means re-flashing, correcting any framing that drifted, and making sure the sill is dead level before the new unit goes anywhere near it.
  5. 5
We set and seal the window. The unit goes in, the flange gets anchored per CGI spec, and every joint gets sealed with the right flashing and sealant for Florida’s coastal climate. No shortcuts, no expired caulk from the truck bed.
  6. 6
We test, clean, and stand behind it. Water test when the situation calls for it, glass cleaned, interior sealed, and both warranty layers registered in writing before the truck leaves. That’s The Keystone Standard on every job, and the Done Right Promise covers the workmanship.

What CGI Custom & Geometric Windows Costs in West Palm Beach

CGI custom window pricing in West Palm Beach is shaped by glass package, shape complexity, and opening size. Here’s what we quote in this market:

  • Single arched or radius unit, laminated impact glass: $2,800-$4,200 installed.
  • Custom triangle or trapezoid, fixed, impact-rated: $2,200-$3,600 installed depending on dimensions.
  • Custom mulled assembly with three or more lites: $5,500-$9,800 installed.
  • Full re-seal and re-glaze of an existing CGI shaped unit: $650-$1,400 depending on glass size and access.
  • Mullion re-pack and re-flash on a custom combination: $1,200-$2,800.

The price moves when the opening is oversized and needs reinforced framing, when the glass package steps up to impact plus low-E, or when the access requires scaffold work on a second-story gable. We never pad a quote with surprise line items, and we never change the number once work starts without a written change order you approved. Call (561) 264-1279 for a free, line-item estimate on your specific opening.

Why West Palm Beach Homeowners Call TruePane Windows & Doors for CGI Work

We’ve been working glass in West Palm Beach since 2008, and the shop runs on Dale Kessler’s founding rule, written on the whiteboard the day we opened: if the pane is not true, the job is not done. Every CGI job we take on gets both manufacturer warranty layers registered in writing before the truck leaves the driveway, along with our Done Right Promise on workmanship. A live person answers our phone 24 hours a day. You call, you get a human being, not a voicemail tree.

When a homeowner has a CGI product, we work it as an independent service provider who also happens to know the neighboring lines: PGT, CWS, ES Windows, and ECO Window Systems. If your CGI window can’t be reasonably saved, we’ll show you the side-by-side options, in writing, and help you make the call. Background-checked, uniformed technicians measure twice, quote honestly, and work like the house belongs to someone they answer to, because it does. We plan to be in West Palm Beach in thirty years. That changes how we work today.

"A casement crank had stripped and the sash was swollen shut. The technician, Ray, fixed the crank on the spot and only then talked about replacement for the three windows that were genuinely done. That is why the whole street uses them now."

EEleanor G.
★★★★★

"Whole-house window replacement at 71 years old is not something you want to do twice. Dale walked the house himself for the quote. Crew was the same three men all four days, and the foreman knew every window by room."
