Signs Your Andersen Sliding & Patio Doors Is Failing

• The door drags or catches about six inches before closing. A roller bearing has seized or worn flat, and the door is now sliding on plastic that wasn’t built for that. Every pass grinds both the roller and the aluminum track.
• The handle moves but the latch doesn’t. Inside the door is a small mortise latch with a spring and a linkage. In coastal humidity, the spring corrodes or the linkage wears, and the door stops locking even though it looks fine from the outside.
