Why West Palm Beach Homeowners Choose PGT Windows & Doors

We provide independent PGT service in West Palm Beach, including repair and installation, from WinGuard impact sliders in downtown condos to SpectraGuard casements in Flamingo Park bungalows. What sets our PGT work apart is the combination: we know these products at the component level, we understand Palm Beach County wind-borne debris code, and we answer the phone when you call. We’re not a PGT dealer and we’re not authorized by PGT, so our recommendation is based on what your window actually needs, not what we’re trying to sell you. If you have a PGT window or door acting up, call (561) 264-1279 and we’ll tell you what we’d do if it were our house.

Why Trust TruePane Windows & Doors for Your PGT Windows & Doors?

Our technicians work on PGT Windows & Doors in Westgate, FL and across West Palm Beach every week. We know how coastal salt air, high humidity, and hurricane code requirements affect their roller assemblies, sash balances, and weatherstripping. We carry genuine PGT hardware for the repairs where OEM is the only right answer, and we stock marine-grade aftermarket seals for the cases where aftermarket actually holds up better in this climate. Dale Kessler, our owner, trained in building construction technology at Palm Beach State College and spent nearly two decades measuring, setting, and sealing windows and doors across Palm Beach County before starting TruePane. He grew up in Northwood Hills watching his father re-glaze storefront windows along Dixie Highway, so when he reads a rough opening on a 1950s CBS house in West Palm Beach, he’s reading forty years of local construction history. We don’t guess. We measure twice, quote on paper, and register both warranty layers before the truck leaves your driveway.

Common PGT Windows & Doors Problems We Fix in West Palm Beach

  • Flattened roller assemblies on WinGuard sliding glass doors. The WinGuard 700 series and other impact-rated sliders use heavy laminated glass, and over years of daily use the tandem rollers flatten into ovals. Sand grit from the beach works into the tracks and accelerates the wear. The door starts binding, then dragging, then refusing to move without two hands and a hip. We replace the roller assemblies with genuine PGT parts, clean and re-lubricate the track, and adjust the height so the door glides with two fingers.
  • Lost sash balance tension on PremierVue double-hung windows. PremierVue double-hungs use spiral or block-and-tackle balance systems that lose tension over time, especially in the humidity and salt air of West Palm Beach. The upper sash drops on its own or won’t stay open. It’s a balance cartridge replacement, not a window replacement, but it needs to be done with the right cartridge for the sash weight or you’ll be back in the same spot in a year.
  • Degraded weatherstripping on SpectraGuard casement and awning windows. The original weatherstripping PGT installs on SpectraGuard casements and awnings is a thermoplastic that breaks down under intense UV and salt exposure. Once it loses its flex, you get air leaks, water intrusion, and higher electric bills. We replace it with high-durometer marine-grade seals that hold shape and rebound longer in this coastal environment.
  • Clogged weep holes on WinGuard impact frames. After a storm or a stretch of windy weather, blown sand and debris pack into the weep holes on WinGuard frames. Water that should drain out of the track gets trapped and finds its way inside. We clean the weep system and install stainless mesh screens that keep out future debris without blocking drainage.
  • Cloudy laminate or failed seals on older PGT impact glass. If your PGT impact window looks cloudy on the inside but the glass isn’t cracked, the interlayer or the seal has failed. This is common on units that have been through twenty years of West Palm Beach sun and humidity. When the laminate goes, the window no longer performs as rated, and the honest answer is usually replacement, not repair.

PGT Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

We use genuine PGT hardware like replacement roller assemblies and balance cartridges whenever possible. Those are precision components, and aftermarket versions rarely match the tolerances. But for weatherstripping, we often use high-durometer marine-grade aftermarket seals that hold up better in salt air than the factory weatherstripping. The decision comes down to what will last longest for your dollar. If a PGT window is over 15 years old and the frame is corroded or the laminate is cloudy, we’ll tell you straight that replacement is more cost-effective than repeated patch repairs. We’d rather lose a small repair job than sell you one that won’t hold. Call (561) 264-1279 and we’ll walk you through what we’re seeing and what we’d recommend.

Our PGT Service Process - Step by Step

  1. 1
Diagnosis. We measure the opening, identify the PGT series and hardware, and find the actual cause of the problem. A dragging WinGuard slider is usually rollers, but sometimes it’s a track out of square or a frame that shifted. We don’t fix symptoms; we find the cause.
  2. 2
Repair or install. We quote the repair on paper before work starts, with the parts specified. For repairs, we use genuine PGT hardware where it matters. For installations, we follow Florida Building Code for wind-borne debris region requirements, which West Palm Beach sits squarely inside.
  3. 3
Test. After the work, we operate the window or door through its full range, check the seals, verify the weep system drains, and make sure the unit is square, plumb, and sealed. Dale’s rule is on our shop wall: if it is not square, plumb, and sealed, it is not done.
  4. 4
Warranty registration. We register both manufacturer warranty layers in writing before the truck leaves the driveway, and the workmanship is covered by our Done Right Promise. No paperwork fights. No arguing.

PGT Products We Service & Install in West Palm Beach

We service and install the full PGT residential line, including PGT Windows & Doors in Lake Park, FL and across West Palm Beach: WinGuard impact windows and sliding glass doors, SpectraGuard casement and awning windows, PremierVue double-hung windows, and Eze-Breeze porch enclosure windows. We stock common PGT roller assemblies, balance cartridges, and weatherstripping locally so most repairs don’t wait on a parts shipment. Whether it’s a 20-year-old WinGuard slider in a downtown condo or a SpectraGuard casement on a Flamingo Park bungalow, we have seen it and we have fixed it.

We Also Service These Brands

We’re an authorized installer for more than a dozen manufacturer lines, and with our Window Installation services we service what we install. If you have Andersen, Pella, or CGI windows and doors alongside your PGT units, one call covers the whole house. We’re not tied to a single brand’s playbook, which means our recommendation is based on what your home needs, not what we’re incentivized to sell.

What Neighbors Say About TruePane Windows & Doors

★★★★★

"Impact windows on the whole house. They handled the permit, the inspection, and gave me a folder with every approval number for the insurance company. My windstorm premium dropped enough to notice."

BBill T.
★★★★★

"A casement crank had stripped and the sash was swollen shut. The technician, Ray, fixed the crank on the spot and only then talked about replacement for the three windows that were genuinely done. That is why the whole street uses them now."

EEleanor G.
★★★★★

"Whole-house window replacement at 71 years old is not something you want to do twice. Dale walked the house himself for the quote. Crew was the same three men all four days, and the foreman knew every window by room."
