If the label is faded or painted over, measure the visible glass width and the frame width, not just the opening. The 900 Series frame profiles run about 3-1/4 inches deep. The Smooth-Star lines sit closer to 2-3/4 to 3 inches. Getting that measurement wrong is the fastest way to order a part that looks right and installs wrong.

On the OEM versus aftermarket question: for Therma-Tru specifically, we prefer OEM balances and latches when the window is under ten years old.
